Reviews
Excellent small museum with superb exhibits and stories of Americans based their during the war. The cafe and cakes are fantastic :) well worth a visit and a popular biker haunt.
The volunteers are chatty and very friendly, it's a great experience even if it is small, it covers a lot of history, even the Home Front efforts.
They have a P51 on display outside perfect to walk around and get some really close experience of these long range fighters.
What a gem of a museum! We had a great visit here today helped by the enthusiastic volunteers that brought it alive. The cafe was well run and the cakes well worth the calories. Our visit was topped off by a ride in an 80 year old WW2 Jeep, a big thank you to the owner, what an amazing piece of kit.
A lot of care and attention was made to the cleanliness of the toilets and cafe areas, the volunteers really taking a pride in maintaining them.
We visited the museum as a half way stop off to Norfolk, and will definitely return again.
What a fantastic day. We'd booked through Adventure Experiences 001 for a helicopter flight and were told to go to this museum. While we were waiting our turn, a lovely gentleman (volunteer) took us out for a ride in his 1940's US jeep. What an experience! this added to a great day. The staff were lovely and helpful and the museum was very interesting. The volunteers were full of stories and knowledge about the place, which made it all the more interesting. Definitely a place to visit. Thank you to all the staff/volunteers for making us feel welcome. I've added a few photos but not all, so as not to spoil the experience for others.
I visited the car show last weekend in my vintage car. The show was great, free entry for the car and 1 passenger. The cafe was wonderful with brilliant cakes. Scones and drinks. 3 drinks and cakes for around £10. Cant complain!
The museum was very interesting and they had put on a live band too. Cant wait for the next car show there. Brilliant event. The staff were super too.
A really excellent small museum curated and staffed by knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. Interesting history brought alive by the staff. Great cafe in the old airfield canteen. Well worth a visit. Dog friendly.
Beautiful little local museum. Very interesting local history and cafe is a delight!
Staff are all volunteers and so passionate, not to mention kind and friendly.
The transformation is incredible since my last visit and the attention to detail is inspiring. Clearly love has been put into the work of restoration. This is a brilliant museum and unique P51 history, has a delightful gift shop. £5 entrance fee. The coffee shop is sublime. A great day out, an awesome gate guardian as well.
